Privacy policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026 · Applies to SpendSense 2.0 and later

In short: SpendSense does not collect, transmit, sell or share any of your data. Everything you enter stays in your own browser.

What SpendSense stores

To work, the extension saves the following on your device, using Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local):

This data never leaves your computer. SpendSense has no servers, no user accounts, no analytics and no advertising. The developer cannot see your data.

Purchase detection on stores

On the supported stores only (Amazon, Etsy, Fnac, Decathlon, Apple, Zalando, AliExpress, Cdiscount and Booking.com), SpendSense checks whether the page you are on is an order confirmation. If it is, it reads the item name and order total from that page to pre-fill a small prompt. Nothing is saved unless you click Track purchase, and even then it is saved only on your device. On other pages of these stores, the check finds nothing and nothing is kept. SpendSense does not run on any other website, and it never records your browsing. You can turn detection off at any time in Settings.

Permissions

Your control over your data

Third parties

SpendSense does not share data with anyone and does not use third-party services. If you open a link to an order page from within SpendSense, that store's own privacy policy applies.

Children

SpendSense is not directed at children and does not knowingly process any information about them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date. Because SpendSense does not collect data, any change will never apply retroactively to data you have already entered.
